Company History

OneCare is a family-born business inspired by our personal need for domiciliary care for our youngest brother.Having been born with various special needs we have been actively involved in his various care needs from birth to a young adult and this will continue throughout his life.

Over the last 20 years through the growth of our younger brother we have identified a very wide network of individuals with special care requirements. These individuals range from young children to older adults and the type of care can range anywhere from learning disabilities to terminal illnesses.

Through building a very strong and trusting relationship with this community of individuals we found there is one frustration we all had in common: a considerable lack of high-quality, bespoke care at affordable prices that promoted dignity, independence, choice and control.

As users of the domiciliary care service we struggled to find healthcare professionals that could meet our needs be they spiritual, emotional, physical or economical. As we networked and developed relationships over the community we knew we were not alone in this plight. We found that good quality healthcare professionals with the right blend of skills and knowledge that promotes dignity, choices and respect were few and far between and very difficult to find.

We would work with care agencies that could provide the necessary care accreditation yet still lacked the skills for delivering the care we needed. To resolve this we would often put healthcare professionals through our own training programme and teach them skills we felt were lacking in their training so they could meet our needs. Through ‘word of mouth,’ a crucial advertising method in this market, we would recommend these healthcare professionals to other users who utilised their services and were grateful. However the demand for these healthcare professionals has always been consistently higher than the supply and for this reason we launched OneCare.

OneCare was set up to fill the gap of high quality healthcare professionals to service and fulfil the broad range of needs of clients in London. We knew we had the right experiences, emotional intelligence and judgement to be able to identify the needs of the client, their families and also the needs of the healthcare professionals. We knew there was a huge and frustrating demand for this, so this year we took the initiative to meet that demand
